Congratulations Jasaman!

Danielle Lawson In The Spotlight

Lions Club of Sydney Nepal Himalaya was established in 2008 with the motive of serving communities and empowering volunteers to meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international recognition and understanding of different cultures.

Our Support Coordinator Jasaman is an important member of Lions Club of Sydney Nepal Himalaya. He has been a charter member since 2010 with his leadership and visionary outlook enabling the club to reach success in many charitable projects.

He has played an important role in raising funds for the Victorian bushfires and the Queensland floods in 2011. He has organised charity dinner events to raise funds for the earthquake in Nepal, and has continued to help underprivileged children receive education in rural Nepal. The club works in all sectors ranging from health, sanitation, education, poverty alleviation, rehabilitation, disaster recovery to clean drinking water and social awareness.

Jasaman has been recognized with various awards from Lions International for his dedication and was recognised with the significant Melvin Jones Fellowship award. He was also nominated for Citizen of the Year by Campbelltown Council.

Recently Jasaman received the NSW Premier Award for community services.

We congratulate Jasaman for the tremendous effort and dedication to his community, but also his drive and work ethic as part of the Zest team.

For anyone considering volunteering or being part of the carer community, Jasaman has these inspiring words “Sometimes we’re tested not to show our weaknesses, but to discover our strengths.”
